Dog Grooming in Montgomery NJ

The Modern Canine is not a corporate facility nor a franchise. Being an independently and locally-owned business, we pride ourselves on being an all-inclusive salon that utilizes only the best dog grooming products. We do not use cheap dog grooming brands, as we always want our clients looking & feeling their best after each appointment!
Although we are not a 1-on-1 salon, we do not support mass drop-offs so our groomers are usually never working on more than two dogs at a time and dogs are usually here 1-3 hours at most, depending on services provided. We strive to maintain a calm and clean environment for all dogs to ensure their safety and comfortability. 
The Modern Canine is not a crate-free salon. Crates are utilized anytime a dog is not being actively worked on - this is to ensure everyone's safety. There are many risks involved such as: sharp tools being dropped, not every dog being dog-friendly, etc. Crates are a safe space for your dog to hang out in while they wait.

SPAW PACKAGES:

THE BASICS:

  • Full Brush Out
  • Luxury Bath & Facial
  • Deshedding (as needed)
  • Blow Out
  • Ear Cleaning
  • Nail Trim
  • Dental Gel & Breath Spray
  • Perfume
  • Bandana

THE IN-BETWEEN:

  • Everything included in The Basics + trimming (face, feet, sanitary). No trim on the body.

THE WORKS:

  • Everything included in The Basics + full haircut/trim all over

 

SPAW PACKAGE ADD-ONS:

  • Nail Filing: $10 (helps smooth nails after clipping)
  • Paw Balm Massage: $10 (soothes, conditions, and relieves dry and cracked pads, while protecting them from the elements)
  • Mud Bath: $20-$35, depending on size of dog
    • exfoliates and removes dead skin, which can help with dandruff and soothing and protecting irritated areas
    • hydrates the skin and coat and assists with shedding
    • the massage effect can stimulate blood flow and remove aches and pains for dogs suffering with arthritis
  • Medicated Bath: $20-$35, depending on size of dog
    • an antimicrobial, antifungal, and antibacterial soak which helps relieve many skin/coat concerns, including: itching, eczema, dandruff, hot spots
    • followed by a deep conditioning treatment which further moisturizes, heals & protects the skin & coat

Deshedding & Matting fees will automatically be applied to the total, as needed at each appointment. Pricing varies depending on the amount of work involved and the size of dog. We do not leave mats or compacted undercoat in dogs.

Dogs that require a skunk or flea & tick shampoo soak: $20

Please call us for price estimates, as pricing varies depending on: breed, size, length of hair, condition of coat, type of haircut, temperament & grooming schedule. Appointments can be made by requesting online, coming into the salon or calling us at: 908-308-2006. 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • We are unable to accept dogs that are aggressive for grooming. 
  • All new clients are required to read and sign the form sent to them upon making their first appointment and must bring their dog’s proof of rabies vaccine if the dog is 6 months of age or older (we do not accept the rabies dog tag, it must be documentation from your vet that states your dog's name and the expiration date of their rabies vaccine).
  • We require 48 hours notice for all grooming appointment cancellations.
  • We do not provide daycare or boarding services. All clients receive a call 30 minutes prior to their dog's grooming completion. Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of grooming completion or a $20 per hour kenneling fee will apply. Â
